Cardinals may already be detaching from Fitzgerald
With a revised contract that dropped his 2014 cap number from $18 million to $9 million, Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald ensured that he'd spend another year with the team. The corresponding increase in his 2015 cap number to $23.6 million could make the coming season Fitzgerald's last season in Arizona.

At the Scouting Combine, Cardinals G. M. Steve Keim admitted that, to an outsider, it may appear that Fitzgerald won't retire with the Cardinals. For his part, Fitzgerald has said that he's focused only on 2014.

There are no shortage of execs in the league who believe the Texans best odds of trading out of 1st overall is w/ Atlanta to get Clowney.

1.) I heard if they trade down to six and Khalil Mack isn't available, they're going QB (Blake Bortles or Johnny Manziel).

Bengals, A. J. Green not talking about a new contract yet
By May 3, the Bengals inevitably will exercise the fifth-year option on receiver A. J. Green's contract. The bigger question is whether the Bengals will be extending Green's contract by more than a year.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, talks on an extension for Green have not yet begun. The fourth overall pick in 2011, Green has a strong argument that he deserves the contract now that he didn't get three years ago under a rookie wage scale aimed at preventing busts from sucking millions out of the system.

But the Bengals hold his rights for two more years, giving them no reason to break the bank prematurely. Even in 2016, they can use the franchise tag to hold him in place while working out a long-term deal.

Before that happens, Green could boycott offseason workouts or hold out from training camp. The former isn't very expensive; the latter would cost $30,000 per day. For that reason, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis is confident Green will be there.

1.) Sounds like he'll hold out next year no doubt, he deserves a multi-year big money contract for his performance. He would be great in New England, Carolina, or San Fran

2.) Green would be a great fit in Seattle. They need a deep threat reciever to compliment Wilson to help him out and take some pressure off of Harvin and Lynch so they don't take on most of the production for the team

Terrelle Pryor on switching positions: 'I don't know how to catch'
When the Seahawks sent a seventh-round pick to the Raiders for quarterback Terrelle Pryor, the first question on many people's minds was whether Pryor would be asked to switch positions.

Yes, he started nine games for Oakland in 2013, but completed just 57 percent of his passes and threw seven touchdowns against 11 interceptions. In starker terms, Pryor was the league's second-worst passer, according to Football Outsiders' QB efficiency metric, ahead of only Brandon Weeden

But any suggestion that Pryor might play anywhere other than under center is misguided; the Seahawks have said as much previously, and so too has Pryor.

Bears sign backup RB Draughn to one-year deal

After failed multi-year deals with veteran backups to running back Matt Forte, the Bears have opted for restraint in the form of a one-year deal done Wednesday with former Kansas City Chief and Baltimore Raven backup Shaun Draughn.

Draughn, 6-0, 205 pounds, with established credentials on special teams as well, was an undrafted free agent who made the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad in 2011-12 and had brief stints with Baltimore and Indianapolis last season.

Alouettes agree to terms with former all-pro WR Chad Johnson
The Montreal Alouettes have signed former Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson.

The team announced on Thursday that they had agreed to terms with the 36-year-old whose NFL career spanned 11 years, a decade with the Cincinnati Bengals and one year with the New England Patriots.

Johnson had been working out with the team since Monday in Florida.

"Chad Johnson did an outstanding job the last three days, " said Alouettes general manager Jim Popp in a release. "As we added him into the mix, it was to see how he communicated with the players, how he held himself, the way he physically held up, his true interest in coming to the CFL. It was a total evaluation so that it's a good fit. He was very happy and very excited to be on the field again and we are happy to welcome him to the Alouettes. "

Johnson has been out of football for the past two seasons. He signed as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2012, but was cut prior to the start of the season following an arrest.
